Lois “Ma” and Ransome “Pa” Brown, my grandparents, started Brown’s Shoe Store in downtown Washington on Main St, in 1950. They lived upstairs above the shoe store with their two children Randy and Suzanne. Ma Brown used to say “In the morning I walk downstairs to open up the shoe store. When I get down there, get things opened up and look out the front windows I can see right into heaven.”
